The Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, called today, Thursday, for the Iraqi government to pay attention to and preserve archaeological sites.
Al-Hakim's office said in a statement: "On the fourth anniversary of the inclusion of the ancient city of Babylon on the World Heritage List, we call on the Iraqi government and its relevant institutions to complete the duties required to be applied to preserve this national heritage as an important part of the World Heritage List."
The statement added: "We also do not fail to emphasize the need to pay attention to other archaeological sites scattered throughout the country."
