The Popular Mobilization Forces carried out sweeping operations in the villages of Hamrin, northeast of Baquba, the center of Diyala Governorate.
A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "combat units from the Popular Mobilization Forces, in coordination with the Diyala Operations Command, carried out extensive operations in the vicinity of villages northeast of Baquba.
He added that the operation comes within the strategy of securing the borders between Diyala and Salah al-Din, and the hills between the villages, and preventing any activity of the terrorist ISIS cells. Indicating that the operation is the largest during the current year.
