Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Says NATO Lacks Political Will to Decide on Ukraine’s Accession

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba believes that NATO currently lacks the political will to decide on Ukraines accession.

"Everything is possible when there is political will," Kuleba said in a television interview.

Kuleba warned that as long as Ukraine remained outside NATO, there would be a risk that Russian aggression against Ukraine would happen again.

Ukraines Foreign Minister called on the NATO members to stop making excuses and proceed with Ukraine's accession to NATO.

Kuleba referred to the 2008 NATO summit held in Bucharest, in which Ukraine obtained the status of a candidate for possible membership in the alliance.

So far, there is no specific time frame for Ukraine's accession, and, likely, taking such a step before the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war does not seem likely.
