Ukraine Announces Its Interception Of 36 Cruise Missiles Launched By Russian Forces, West Of The Country

The Ukrainian Air Force announced that it had intercepted 36 “cruise missiles” launched by Russia in a new wave of bombing, targeting several areas in western Ukraine.

“36 cruise missiles were destroyed,” said Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, without specifying whether the Russian missiles reached their targets during this attack.

The Ukrainian Air Force also indicated that it had intercepted three “Caliber” missiles, in a campaign of first strikes in the afternoon, and then 33 X-101 and X-555 missiles in the evening.

The Air Force stated that the missiles were launched from eight Russian strategic bombers (Tu-95), from the southeastern direction towards western Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force noted that another Russian bombing, on Wednesday evening, was targeted by MiG-31 fighters, which fired four “Kingal” hypersonic missiles, which are difficult to intercept, in the Khmelnytskyi region, western Ukraine, which Russia has previously targeted repeatedly./ End
