The Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Dhiab Abdullah, met with the Governor of Maysan, Ali Dawwai Lazem, at the governorate’s office, and the two sides discussed ways to improve the irrigation and water situation and the projects implemented by the ministry in the governorate.
During the meeting, the agricultural plan that was recently approved by the Ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, was reviewed, as well as some projects being implemented by the Ministry in the governorate in the field of land reclamation, increasing the agricultural area, and using modern technologies to ensure optimal use of water and reduce water losses.
The Minister stressed that Maysan Governorate is considered an important joint in the country’s water system, listening to the most important proposals and observations made by the governor in order to develop the water resources sector in the governorate.
