The FM Chairs A Meeting At The UN Headquarters Of The Group Of Friends Of Victims Of Terrorism

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, stressed the need for victims of terrorism for continuous support commensurate with the huge sacrifices they made.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today, Thursday: “Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and his Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Albaris Bueno, chaired a meeting of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism, which was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York yesterday on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations at its seventy-eighth session.

In his speech during the meeting, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stressed the need for victims of terrorism to provide continued support commensurate with the enormous sacrifices they made, referring to Iraq’s efforts to combat terrorism and the terrorist attacks that left them with casualties among Iraqis who are still suffering from the consequences of those brutal attacks.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the efforts of the United Nations and its specialized centers in combating terrorism, stressing the need for these centers to make more efforts to integrate victims of terrorism into society, end their suffering, and commemorate their sacrifices.
