The Foreign Ministers Of Iraq And Russia Discuss The Recent Developments In Gaza Strip And Their Repercussions On The Region

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met today, Tuesday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov, at the headquarters of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "The two sides discussed a number of topics of common concern, most notably bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them, as well as addressing the receivables of Russian companies operating in Iraq."

On the other hand, the two sides discussed regional issues, especially the recent developments in the Gaza Strip and their repercussions on the region, noting the importance of concerted efforts to find just solutions to the Palestinian issue.

They also touched on the Syrian situation and its impact and repercussions on the Iraqi reality and the necessity of cooperation to secure the Iraqi-Syrian border.
