Doha: The Shura Council on Wednesday strongly condemned the attack launched by the Israeli occupation state against the State of Qatar, targeting residences of members of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Council described this assault as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a threat to the safety of its people, including both citizens and residents.
The Council expressed condolences over the death of a member of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and two others due to the attack, offering prayers for their families and recovery for the injured.
The Shura Council stated that this act violates international laws and norms. It urged the international community, the United Nations, and other organizations to hold the occupying state accountable for the aggression and its disregard for innocent lives, calling for an end to violations undermining security and stability globally.
The Council warned that the failure to hold the occupying power accountable for its actions, including the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and occupied Palestinian territories, has emboldened further attacks in the region.
The Council also condemned the threat made by the Speaker of the Knesset, following the attack on Qatar, as a message to the Middle East. It urged organizations to consider suspending the Knesset’s membership in response.
The Shura Council reaffirmed Qatar’s support for the Palestinian cause, rejecting attempts to undermine the rights of the Palestinian people. It praised Qatar’s role in efforts to halt Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and occupied Palestinian territories.
