Second Iranian Attack Sparks Fire at Kuwait’s Power and Water Desalination Plant

Doha: Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced on Sunday that a power generation and water desalination plant was attacked by Iran for the second consecutive day, igniting a fire within the facility.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry confirmed that the attack compromised multiple power generation units, necessitating the activation of emergency protocols to stabilize the country's power system. Firefighters quickly responded to control the blaze, while technical and emergency teams collaborated with security authorities to secure the facility and evaluate the damage.

The ministry emphasized that teams are working tirelessly to restore affected units and maintain power system stability, with continuous monitoring and necessary measures in place to prevent further disruptions. It assured that updates will be provided through official channels as they closely coordinate with relevant authorities.

The recent incidents mark continued Iranian missile and drone attacks on Kuwait, posing challenges to the nation's infrastructure resilience.
