Qatar Condemns Israeli Attack on Doha Amidst Rising Regional Tensions

Doha: Raya newspaper has denounced the recent Israeli attack on Qatar’s sovereignty and security, which targeted residential headquarters housing members of the Hamas political bureau in Doha.

According to Qatar News Agency, the editorial in Raya condemned the attack as a flagrant violation of international laws and the UN Charter, posing a significant threat to the safety of Qatari citizens and residents. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani voiced his condemnation and pledged to take necessary measures to protect Qatar’s security during calls with international leaders, including US President Donald Trump.

Al-Raya further emphasized that the Amir’s strong statements reflect the sentiments of Qataris, highlighting the reckless nature of the attack and its implications for regional and international stability. The newspaper also mentioned HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani’s condemnation of the attack, labeling it as “state terrorism” and asserting Qatar’s right to respond.

In a related editorial, Al-Watan newspaper reiterated Doha’s historical role as a mediator in regional conflicts and criticized the attack as an unprecedented betrayal of Qatar’s peace efforts. The newspaper echoed the Amir’s characterization of the attack as a violation of international law, calling on the international community to hold Israel accountable.

Meanwhile, The Peninsula, an English-language newspaper, described the Israeli attack as a cowardly assault on a sovereign nation. The newspaper highlighted Qatar’s firm stance against the aggression, noting its threat to regional security and peace efforts. The Peninsula concluded by stressing the need for the international community to address the ongoing Israeli aggression, which poses a significant threat to global peace and security.
