Military Intelligence overthrew a dangerous network specialized in human trafficking, and seized an outlet for smuggling currency in Baghdad.
The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense stated in a statement: "The detachments of the Intelligence and Security Directorate of Baghdad managed to penetrate a dangerous network specialized in human trafficking, and arrested the nicknamed (Nouna), who leads the network in flagrante delicto, in the center of the capital."
It added: "The detachments of the same Directorate seized one of the outlets in the Karrada area in Baghdad, which is used for money laundering operations and the smuggling of foreign currency (dollars) through foreign transfers, and the directorate's detachments arrested the owner of the outlet."
In a separate context and with careful field follow-up, detachments of the Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested (5) violators of residency conditions and illegally entering the country of foreign nationalities, in the city of Diwaniyah, in coordination with the Residence Affairs Department.
