Baghdad - US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced that the United States does not want war with Iran, but will respond if its representatives are attacked during the current conflict in the Middle East.
Blinken said: During the UN Security Council meeting, “The United States is not looking for a conflict with Iran, and we do not want this war to expand,” noting that “if Iran or its agents strike the Americans anywhere, the response will be “decisive and swift.”
Blinken called on the UN Security Council to convey to Iran and its supporters a call not to open a second front against Israel.
The US Secretary of State said: “If you, like the United States, do not want the conflict to expand, then by all means convey the idea that it is impossible in this conflict to open a second front against Israel.”
He added: "Do not attack Israel!".
