Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf discussed Tuesday via phone with his Libyan counterpart Najla El Mangoush ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as developments at the regional level.
During the call, the two ministers also exchanged views on the prospects for overcoming the obstacles that impede the path of a political settlement of the Libyan crisis, as Attaf renewed the expression of his country’s permanent solidarity with Libya, including within its unity and stability, and enshrined the consensus of its people regarding organizing free and fair elections that would end the divisions and restore the country to its natural position at the continental and international levels.
For her part, El Mangoush appreciated Algeria’s firm support for Libya’s security and stability, praising, in the same context, the promising prospects for developing bilateral relations to meet the aspirations of the two peoples.
