Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani condoled the death of former Minister Sheikh Sami Azara Al-Majoun.
He said in a statement: The Iraqi political figure and former minister, Sheikh Sami Azara Al-Majoun left us. We belong to God and to Him we shall return.
He added: The deceased left behind a rich legacy of national struggle, and the principled positions he took at important junctures in our contemporary history, and his role was notable in combating the dictatorial regime, just as he contributed to enriching and building our new Iraq, its developing democratic institutions, and its political renaissance, through his tribal and distinguished social role.
He continued: Our consolation in this painful departure is that Sheikh Al Majoun established an exemplary path for national action and made efforts through which he sought to stabilize Iraqi society and establish its civil and political rights in light of the constitution.
