The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency arrested a gang trafficking in girls in Baghdad.
The Agency’s statement stated: Detachments of the Intelligence Agency/Organized Crime Directorate specialized in combating human trafficking arrested a gang consisting of (6) defendants, after monitoring information indicating the existence of a gang for trafficking in girls and exploiting them for immoral purposes in Baghdad.
It explained that after receiving the information, an intelligence and field follow-up team was formed, and after verifying the accuracy of the information, proper judicial approvals were obtained and all those accused of the crime were arrested red-handed. Girls who were being exploited for immoral purposes for financial gain were also seized in their possession. Their confession statements were recorded and they were referred to the competent authorities to obtain their just punishment./End
