A celestial body/meteorite/ penetrates the atmosphere in the skies of Iraq and the Gulf countries

Residents of the Umm Qasr and Safwan areas in Basra witnessed the moments when the comet (12P/Pons-Brooks) disintegrated into three pieces after penetrating the atmosphere. Weather forecaster Sadiq Attia explained on his personal site that a celestial body (meteorite) penetrated the Earth's atmosphere and was seen in the skies of Iraq and the Gulf states at midnight last night.
