Doha: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed, in a phone call Thursday with his US counterpart Marco Rubio, possible steps to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza. The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Fidan and Rubio discussed maintaining the ceasefire and ensuring the continued delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two ministers also explored issues related to the implementation of the Declaration of Intent signed at the Middle East Peace Summit hosted by Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, last Monday. They further delved into developments in Syria, issues related to the Iranian nuclear negotiations, and the course of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
