The new Turkish Parliament Speaker confirms his country’s readiness to support the Iraqi government in its endeavor to rebuild the country

The new Turkish Parliament Speaker, Numan Kurtulmus, affirmed his country’s readiness to support the Iraqi government in its endeavor to rebuild the country and support the developmental construction movement.

Kurtulmus said, during a phone call he received today from Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to congratulate him on his assumption of his new position as Speaker of the Turkish Parliament: Turkey sincerely supports the efforts of the Iraqi government regarding reconstruction and development in the country.

He added, “We look forward to working closely, especially within the framework of the development path project, which is of strategic importance for the well-being of our two peoples and the stability of Iraq and the entire region.

During the phone call, the new Turkish Parliament Speaker stressed the need to enhance communication and cooperation between the two Parliaments on issues that define the joint business agenda of the two countries to the highest level.

He pointed out that the ties of brotherhood and neighborliness that bind the two countries and the deep love between the Turkish and Iraqi peoples give them the strength and enthusiasm necessary to follow this path.

During the call, Kurtulmus suggested quickly re-forming and creating friendship groups between the two parliaments, which was welcomed by Al-Halbousi and expressed his willingness to provide assistance.
