Civil Defense teams put out a fire in the holy Kadhimiya and evacuate hotel guests

The Civil Defense teams succeeded in containing and extinguishing a fire that broke out inside an abandoned area surrounded by four hotels crowded with visitors, on Sharif Al-Radi Street, in the center of the holy city of Al-Kadhimiya, in Baghdad.

A statement by the Directorate of Civil Defense said that its teams evacuated the visitors from the vicinity of the accident in conjunction with the evacuation of the inmates in anticipation of the escalation of toxic gas emissions, while it continued to carry out direct intrusion and suppression operations inside the abandoned plot that contained piles of wood and waste, to record the injury of a firefighter as a result of the effort and high temperatures in the accident site to be transferred to Al-Kadhimiya Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The statement added that the civil defense teams finished their work without recording any human losses, while they opened an investigation at the police station responsible for the geographical area and summoned a forensic expert to determine the causes of the fire that broke out inside that abandoned plot.
