The Ministry of Electricity signs a new contract with the German company Siemens for long-term maintenance at the Rumaila gas station

The Ministry of Electricity, represented by the Director General of Southern Electricity Production, signed today, Thursday, a new and strategic contract with the German company Siemens, for long-term maintenance of the generating units at the Rumaila gas station in Basra Governorate.

Minister Ziyad Ali Fadel welcomed the Executive Director of the company and his technical team, and pointed to the great and unlimited support that the Ministry enjoys from the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and based on his directives to contract with reliable and manufacturing companies.

The Minister mentioned that an action plan for maintenance projects must be prepared, and that the obstetric units are ready, starting from now until before next Summer for the year 2024.

The maintenance contracts that we signed earlier and are being signed today include:

? Setting the frequency of operating units within the scientific determinants,

? Replacement of spare parts with original-made equipment, in which exact specifications are taken into account.

? Safe operation of the system.

The Minister said that Siemens is one of the approved international companies, which has great work that it has accomplished in Iraq at the energy level, and we aspire to train the Ministry’s staff to operate and maintain the stations and provide them with technical expertise.

For his part, the Executive Director of Siemens, Muhannad Al-Saffar, valued this confidence given to the company, and said that our teams working with you are keen to provide the best programs and technologies, and to accelerate the pace of work and achievement rates within the specified time limits.
