The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin had today a phone call with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, during which they discussed a number of issues of concern to the two countries.
During the conversation, the intention to develop bilateral relations in the fields of trade, energy, transport, logistics and the environment was emphasized.
The Kremlin report stated that "Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, and the Iranian President also expressed his full support for the Russian leadership regarding the events of June 24 (the failed insurrection attempt of the Wagner Group)."
He also added that "the prospects for developing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation were discussed, with a focus on the practical implementation of existing agreements in the field of trade, energy and transportation, and it was agreed to continue contacts between the two countries."
The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, announced, earlier, the continuation of work on drafting a new cooperation agreement between Moscow and Tehran.
The Iranian "Tasnim" Agency also reported that Moscow and Tehran intend to sign a joint agreement for cooperation in the field of repair and production of aircraft and helicopters.
