The Iraq and Syria Concludes A MoU Of Economy And Foreign Trade

The delegation of the Iraqi-Syrian joint committee concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, in the presence of the Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, the head of the National Investment Commission, Haider Makiya, the undersecretaries of the Iraqi ministries of industry, minerals and water resources, and a number of general managers in the ministries of the two countries.

The head of the National Investment Commission, Haider Makiya, confirmed during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by Minister of Trade Atheer Al-Ghurairy and his Syrian counterpart, Muhammad Samer Khalil, that the agreement included activating bilateral dealings with the Syrian Arab Republic in the sectors of industry, trade, housing and information technology.

He added, according to a statement by the Commission, that the memorandum of understanding will work to enhance the levels of development of the Iraqi economy and increase the space for investment opportunities and qualitative joint projects in the two countries, noting: “This agreement was concluded according to frameworks of common benefits to develop economic and commercial development rates and encourage pioneering investments in vital sectors, as well as exchanging information and experiences in projects and technical expertise in the field of serving investors and benefiting from them in the development of the national economy.
