The Finnish Ambassador regrets the incident of burning copies of the Holy Qur’an in Sweden and Denmark

The Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Matti Lasila, expressed his regret over the incident of burning copies of the Holy Qur'an in Sweden and Denmark, and its repercussions on the relations of both countries with Iraq.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Head of the Europe Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Haider Mansour Al-Athari, met with the Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Matti Lasila, in the Ministry's building in Baghdad, on the occasion of the end of his duties in Baghdad, and during the meeting, they discussed ways to develop Iraqi-Finnish relations, and the Ambassador expressed the Finn expressed his regret over the incident of burning copies of the Holy Qur'an in Sweden and Denmark and its repercussions on the relations of both countries with Iraq.

The Finnish Ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to perpetuate and enhance cooperation with Iraq in all political, economic and commercial fields.
