Tehran _Iranian exports to Iraq exceed $10 billion

The Head of the Iranian Customs Authority, Muhammad Radwani Fer, confirmed today, Thursday, that Iranian exports to Iraq exceed $10 billion, while the Kurdistan region accounts for 5 percent of the country's exports.

"The development of economic cooperation between Iran and Iraq, as well as the Kurdistan region, is one of the main axes of the customs agenda," Radwani Fer said, during a meeting of the governors of the Iranian border provinces with Iraqi Kurdistan, according to Fars News Agency.

He pointed out that "Iranian exports to Iraq exceed $10 billion, constituting 19 percent of the country's total exports, while the share of the Kurdistan region is 5 percent, which is an important and remarkable level."

Radwani Fer expressed his hope that "the exchange, especially with the Kurdistan region, will witness a development in light of the start of the activities of the "Tamrjin" border crossing (northwest).
