Sudan stressed the importance of dialogue between all Libyan parties to overcome the differences between them, with the aim of achieving stability in the country and neighboring countries.

The Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs ,Ali Al-Sadiq, confirmed during his meeting Friday with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya Abdoulaye Bathily, who is currently visiting Khartoum, that his country can be relied upon to support the steps of political and security stability in Libya, explaining that the stability of Libya is stability for Sudan, and for the entire region.

During the meeting, Bathily briefed the Sudanese minister on his initiative to restore political stability to Libya through the ongoing arrangements to bring together all parties in the east and west, in preparation for holding elections before the end of this year.

The UN envoy had stated, earlier, that the UN mission is looking forward to the cooperation of Libya's neighboring countries in order to help address the situation in the country, given that establishing stability in it represents an extension of stability to all neighboring countries, calling them to make collective efforts to monitor and secure their borders so that they are not a haven for outlaw groups involved in illegal immigration operations, and to promote peace and stability in the region.
