Serie A: Juventus and Atalanta Share Points as Inter Milan Triumphs Over Cagliari

Juventus: Juventus missed a chance to go top of the Serie A standings after being held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Atalanta on Saturday in the fifth round of the Italian league. The match at Allianz Stadium saw Juve salvage a point late, while Inter Milan secured a 2-0 win over Cagliari in the day’s other fixture.

According to Qatar News Agency, Atalanta took the lead just before halftime through Ghanaian forward Kamaldeen Sulemana in the 45th minute. Juventus equalized in the 78th minute thanks to substitute Juan Cabal, who found the net to rescue a draw for the hosts. The result extended Juventus’s winless streak at home against Atalanta, with their last victory in Turin dating back to March 14, 2018 (2-0). Last season, Juve suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat in the same fixture.

With the draw, Juventus moved to 11 points, one behind league leaders Napoli, who face AC Milan on Sunday. Atalanta, meanwhile, climbed to third with nine points from two wins and three draws.

In the day’s second match, Inter Milan retur
ned to form with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari, marking their third win of the season after two earlier defeats. Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring in the ninth minute, and Francesco Pio Esposito sealed the result in the 82nd. Inter now sits fourth with nine points, trailing Atalanta on goal difference. Cagliari, with two wins and a draw, remains ninth on seven points after suffering its second loss.
