Russia, Egypt’s Presidents Highlight Importance of Regaining Stability in the Middle-East

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized today the importance of restoring stability in the Middle East, particularly in the Gaza Strip, and the need to intensify efforts to prevent regional escalation.

According to Qatar News Agency, during their meeting in the Russian capital, Moscow, the two presidents discussed developments in regional and international issues of joint interest, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations across various fields.

The meeting also addressed ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the Strip to address the humanitarian crisis. Both leaders stressed the importance of reaching a resolution to the Palestinian issue through the establishment of a Palestinian state along the Jun. 4, 1967 borders, considering it the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the region.

They also discussed developments in Syria, Libya, and Sudan, in addition to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
