Qatar’s Steadfast Support Highlighted at International Conference

New york: Al-Sharq, a prominent Qatari newspaper, underscored the participation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. The conference took place in New York alongside the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq emphasized that the conference aimed to mobilize the international community to achieve genuine peace through the enforcement of the two-state solution. This solution is intended to enable peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel, end the ongoing conflict, and address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The editorial highlighted the commendations from global leaders for Qatar’s significant role, alongside Egypt and the United States, in mediating a ceasefire, facilitating humanitarian aid, and striving to secure the release of hostages in Gaza.

The Peninsula, another Qatari daily, noted in its editorial that the conference marked a pivotal moment in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The recognition of the State of Palestine by countries such as the UK, Canada, France, Australia, and Portugal has revived global momentum for the two-state solution. This recognition, viewed as a victory for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, follows the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the New York Declaration, a Saudi-French initiative outlining a peace roadmap.

Al-Arab, in its editorial, extended congratulations to Saudi Arabia on its 95th National Day. The paper praised the Kingdom’s achievements and ambitions under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It highlighted Saudi Arabia’s new era of sustainability and growth, emphasizing its political, economic, and cultural influence. The editorial noted the successes of Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the Kingdom’s economy beyond oil through ambitious reforms and development projects.
