Doha: Qatari newspapers addressed several topics in their Sunday editorials, most notably highlighting Qatar’s humanitarian and diplomatic role in halting the war in Gaza, sparing innocent lives, alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people, and protecting civilians, all while achieving a just and sustainable settlement based on the two-state solution.
According to Qatar News Agency, newspapers condemned the ongoing Israeli massacres against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which are intensifying day after day, particularly with the escalation of the occupation forces’ bombardment of Gaza City, resulting in dozens of Palestinian martyrs and wounded.
On local affairs, newspaper editorials also praised Qatar’s national efforts, which reflect a firm commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families by providing a safe and inclusive environment that includes family support spaces, sensory workshops, and specialized programs targeting various age groups.
For its part, Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that Qatar remains committed to its humanitarian and diplomatic role and is directing its tireless efforts and endeavors toward stopping the war and the bloodshed of innocents, and releasing hostages and prisoners. Qatar’s top priority is to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, protect civilians, and achieve a just and sustainable settlement based on the two-state solution, the paper added.
Al-Sharq affirmed that Qatar is a reliable and important strategic partner for the US in de-escalation efforts, especially in light of the escalating crises in the region, most notably the war in Gaza. The newspaper praised the advanced level of coordination between the two sides, who work together to address numerous regional and international issues, whether related to ending the war in Gaza and releasing hostages, or broader issues such as regional stability, combating terrorism, and supporting diplomatic efforts on the international stage.
The State of Qatar will continue to focus primarily on advancing its efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, the newspaper concluded.
In turn, Al-Watan newspaper said the Israeli massacres against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip continue with intensity day after day, particularly with the escalation of the occupation forces’ bombardment of Gaza City, resulting in dozens of Palestinian martyrs and wounded.
The newspaper noted that despite the announcement of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war and release the detainees, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues his arrogant rejection of all international calls for a ceasefire.
The time has come to end the most heinous aggression in history and save thousands of innocent people, after the number of Palestinian martyrs rose to nearly 66,000, with thousands more wounded, in addition to turning the Gaza Strip into a pile of dust, Al-Watan concluded.
