For its part, Al-Sharq said in its editorial today that the targeting of the martyr Samer Abu Daqqa and Al Jazeera correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh during their coverage of the bombing that targeted Farhana School in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, and the deliberate obstruction by the occupying forces of the arrival of paramedics to the deceased photographer, confirms that this new crime is part of a systematic targeting of the network's journalists and their families in the Gaza Strip.
The newspaper considered the targeting of Al Jazeera a message of intimidation to journalists and the media, attempting to prevent them from documenting the horrific Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip and the reality of the atrocities and the extent of destruction caused by the Israeli war machine.
It concluded by saying that the ongoing genocide, terrible crimes, and war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip place the international community before a moral and legal responsibility to stop this criminal war, protect innocent civilians, relief workers, doctors, journalists, and hold the responsible Israelis accountable for these crimes.
Meanwhile Al-Watan said in its editorial today that the statements made by the US National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, largely clarified what US President Joe Biden said last Tuesday. It emphasized that Israel is starting to lose international support due to its indiscriminate bombing of the Gaza Strip. This means that the aggression continues, but in a different manner, and it also means that there is no clear American direction to exert real pressure on the Israelis to completely halt the ceasefire.
The newspaper added that an Israeli channel reported that the Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant, told Sullivan that dismantling Hamas will take more than a few months, and that it will be a long-term war. The paper deduced that this means a continuation of aggression, leading to additional disasters that the defenseless Palestinian people will pay the price for.
