Doha: In their headlines Monday, Qatari newspapers addressed the State of Qatar's global status as a reliable source of clean energy supplies worldwide, considering QatarEnergy's signing of long-term time charter party (TCP) agreements with four international shipowners as a culmination of Qatar's leadership in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. The new agreements represent a significant milestone in QatarEnergys historic shipbuilding programme, bringing the total number of ships contracted to 104 vessels, the largest shipbuilding and leasing program ever in the history of the industry, the newspapers noted. The papers also highlighted the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip despite the United Nations Security Council's decision to halt the war and condemnation from around the world for the massacre of civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. They pointed out the United States' continued provision of more deadly and advanced weapons to the Israeli entity, affirming that the White House's statements and repeated warnings about the Israeli military operation planned by the occupying forces to invade Rafah in the Gaza Strip are nothing but a political maneuver to cover up the ongoing support of the US administration for the war. Under the headline "Qatar, Major Player in Global Gas Market," Al-Arab newspaper saw that the State of Qatar reaffirms once again its status as a key player in the global gas market, highlighting its ability to provide long-term supplies of LNG. The agreements signed by QatarEnergy serve to underscore Qatar's pivotal role in the global gas market. It noted the signing of long-term time charter party (TCP) agreements with four international shipowners for the operation of 19 new, ultra-modern conventional size LNG vessels as part of the second ship-owner tender under QatarEnergy's historic LNG fleet expansion program. HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi said that the new agreements f orm "a significant milestone in QatarEnergy's LNG fleet expansion program, as it marks the conclusion of the conventional sizes vessels portion of program, bringing the total number of ships for which we have signed TCPs to 104 vessels, a massive undertaking that is the largest shipbuilding and leasing program ever in the history of the industry. These ships will support our expanded LNG production capacity from the North Field in Qatar." Al-Arab concluded by saying that the new agreements demonstrate and affirm to the world the confidence in LNG supplies and Qatar's ability to provide them according to specified quantities and schedules. QatarEnergy has never delayed a deal, despite the difficult circumstances affecting the global transportation and shipping industry. This reinforces confidence in Qatari gas and confirms that Qatar is a trustworthy guardian of the future of natural gas worldwide.
