Doha: A phone call took place between Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad of the Arab Republic of Egypt, during which they reviewed the relations of cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, and the latest regional developments, especially the diplomatic efforts made and joint coordination to reduce escalation and enhance security and stability in the region.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, during the call, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy. They discussed the implementation of agreements within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This includes ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to maintain regional security, preserve achieved gains, and enhance stability.
The Qatari leadership reiterated the country's full support for efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.
