Qatar University Opens Undergraduate Admission for Spring 2026

Doha: Qatar University (QU) has announced the start of online applications for Spring 2026 undergraduate admissions for first-year, visiting, and non-degree students, with the deadline set for November 12, 2025.

According to Qatar News Agency, the university explained that online applications for students transferring from other universities to QU and for second-degree students will begin on October 26 and continue until November 5. The colleges available for admission for first-year, transfer students, and second-degree students include the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Business and Economics, the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, and the College of Nursing. All of these colleges require a minimum high school average of 70 percent upon application.

The statement emphasized that admission to QU is competitive, noting that achieving the minimum high school diploma does not guarantee admission to a student’s first choice. Admission is based on the capacity of each college and the educational track in secondary school. Applicants are invited to submit their admission application by completing the online form on the university’s official website (apply.qu.edu.qa) and uploading the required documents, including a photo and a copy of a valid Qatari ID card or a passport for non-Qataris, before the deadline.

Students who have met the minimum admission requirements can apply through the university’s website. Students from Qatari public and independent secondary schools who obtained their high school diploma in 2016 or later are not required to submit their high school diploma to QU, as the university will receive their results from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Students from private and international schools, as well as those from Qatari public and independent schools from 2015 and earlier, must submit their final, original, and certified high school transcripts, along with copies for verification, before the deadline.

Applicants from other universities must submit their original, certified university transcripts and copies for verification to QU before the deadline. Applicants can track their admission status online using their username and password. Inquiries can be directed to the Admissions Department via email or the Qatar University Student Call Center.

The university also clarified that the online application for various scholarships will be open from October 12, 2025, to November 12, 2025, with decisions announced via email. Applications for the Outstanding Performance Scholarship for current students will be open from November 2, 2025, to December 2, 2025, with decisions also announced via email. Scholarship applications can be submitted online for first-year students and enrolled students via the self-service system during the application period.
