Doha: The State of Qatar achieved a distinguished presence at the International Forum of Arab Women in Diplomacy, hosted by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States at its Cairo headquarters. This occasion, organized in collaboration with the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, coincided with the International Day of Arab Women Diplomats.
According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater was honored with the Arab Woman Excellence Shield for Social Responsibility 2026. This award acknowledges her leadership across national, regional, and international platforms, particularly in supporting education and society, and her role as an inspiring model of Arab women's leadership. The award was accepted on her behalf by Counselor Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim from the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Egypt and the Permanent Delegation to the League of Arab States.
In addition, Dr. Rania Yousri Mohammed, Director of the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, received the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award 2026. This recognition was for her work on the Social Responsibility Project in Private Schools and Kindergartens. Dr. Mohammed conveyed to Qatar News Agency that Qatar shared its experience in this domain with other Arab nations to foster expertise exchange and promote social responsibility among schools, students, parents, and ministries. She expressed optimism that the project would ensure equitable, quality education opportunities in Qatar's private schools, thereby advancing education quality and community development goals.
Her Excellency Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti was also recognized with the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award. This acknowledgment was for her significant contributions to parliamentary and community work and her efforts in promoting social responsibility values. Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim likewise accepted this award on her behalf.
Additionally, Minister Plenipotentiary Maryam Ahmed Al Shibi, Deputy Ambassador of Qatar to Egypt and Deputy Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, was honored for her efforts in supporting diplomatic endeavors, fostering Arab cooperation, promoting social responsibility, and empowering women in diplomacy. In a statement to QNA, Al Shibi expressed pride in this recognition, stating it reflects the appreciation for Qatari women and Qatar's commitment to empowering women in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030. She emphasized that the award motivates continued service to communities and bolsters the role of Arab women in peacebuilding and sustainable development, dedicating the honor to Arab and Qatari women.
The forum witnessed participation from a prominent group of regional and international diplomatic leaders, decision-makers, and representatives from development and media organizations.
