Qatar Reaffirms Commitment to Palestinian Rights at Doha Forum 2025

Doha: Qatari daily Al-Watan has highlighted Qatar’s unyielding support for the Palestinian people as a core element of its foreign policy.

According to Qatar News Agency, this commitment was underscored by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani during a discussion with Tucker Carlson at the Doha Forum 2025. The Prime Minister emphasized Qatar’s ongoing humanitarian aid to Palestinians while stating that Qatar will not take on the responsibility for rebuilding the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of destruction caused by others.

Al-Watan reported that His Excellency stressed the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land, asserting that no entity holds the authority to displace them. He also noted Qatar’s engagement with Hamas in securing ceasefire agreements and the release of hostages. The editorial concluded by reiterating Qatar’s firm stance and commitment to dialogue, with His Excellency warning against the continuation of current conditions in Gaza, which could lead to further conflict escalation.

In a separate editorial titled “Qatar’s Steadfast Commitment to the Palestinian Cause,” Al-Arab reinforced the message of Qatar’s leadership prioritizing the Palestinian cause. The paper stated that Qatar, under HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has consistently provided political, material, and moral support to Palestinians. Al-Arab highlighted Qatar’s financial contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), amounting to over $49 million in 2024, showcasing Qatar’s ongoing support beyond political backing.

Meanwhile, The Peninsula, in its editorial “Dialogue, Cooperation Take Centre Stage,” focused on the broader implications of the Doha Forum 2025. The paper emphasized the event’s role in fostering dialogue and cooperation amid global uncertainties. The editorial highlighted the discussions on Palestine, where HE Qatar’s Prime Minister reiterated the country’s support for Palestinians, aligning with the Forum’s agenda of translating debate into action.

Through these editorials, Qatari newspapers collectively underscored the nation’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause and its broader role in promoting global dialogue and cooperation.
