Doha: In their editorials on Sunday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the slogan for this year’s National Day celebrations, derived from a speech by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The message underscores the ongoing path of development in Qatar, emphasizing that nation-building is advanced through the efforts of its citizens and hinges on a commitment to work, giving, and responsibility for a thriving present and a brighter future.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper noted that the 2025 Qatar National Day slogan, inspired by the Amir’s speech, embodies the vision that investing in human development is crucial for progress and sustaining achievements. It reflects Qatar’s commitment to fostering values of loyalty, belonging, and pride in the national identity. The slogan is drawn from a speech by HH the Amir during his 2016 visit to Qatar University, where he emphasized the importance of human capital as the nation’s most significant investment.
Al-Sharq further explained that the Amir’s words serve as a call to continue the journey of building and giving, rooted in the belief that nation-building and human development are intertwined. The paper highlighted that the prosperity of the country is achieved through the dedication and commitment of its people. HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani emphasized that successive generations of Qataris have demonstrated that patriotism is a deeply ingrained cultural value, passed down with love and loyalty.
Al-Watan daily reinforced that HH the Amir’s speeches consistently spotlight the human being as the foundation and greatest investment in nation-building. Qatar’s focus on developing its people through education, healthcare, and empowerment aligns with national strategies to achieve objectives like human capacity development and individual well-being, while preserving cultural identity and social values. The paper reiterated that this year’s slogan, inspired by the Amir’s 2016 address, calls for continued building and giving, highlighting the integral link between nation-building and human development.
The National Day commemorates the founding of Qatar on December 18, 1878, by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. Al-Watan concluded by noting that the occasion serves as a reminder of the society’s highest values, reinforcing loyalty, unity, and pride in the Qatari national identity.
