Doha: Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the Qatari government’s commitment to advancing the role of youth in sustainable development, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030. A pivotal step in this direction is the government’s strategic initiative to localize jobs within the private sector. The move aims to maximize the involvement of the national workforce, offering quality investments, and creating numerous employment and training opportunities for both male and female citizens.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet has approved a draft Amiri Decision to establish the Qatar Award for Localization in the Private Sector. This award underscores the country’s ongoing efforts to encourage Qataris to participate in the private sector by offering various privileges and incentives. The private sector is seen as a fertile ground for innovation, supporting the optimal use of Qatari talents and skills across different fields.
The primary objective of the Qatar Award for Localization in the Private Sector is to maintain a balanced labor market, ensure sustainable income, and unleash Qatari creativity, contributing to the nation’s overall progress, Al-Raya concluded.
In another development, Al-Sharq newspaper reported on the joint mediation efforts by Qatar and Egypt, alongside the United States, to de-escalate tensions in the region. The focus is on pushing Israel and Hamas towards upholding the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Despite these efforts, the Israeli occupation forces have intensified attacks, resulting in the death of at least 35 Palestinians in the Shujaiya neighborhood, including a family of 19.
Since the resumption of the Israeli aggression, the toll has reached approximately 1,500 martyrs, with many being children and women. This ongoing violence has raised the death count since October 7, 2023, to nearly 51,000, Al-Sharq noted, condemning the lack of international accountability and the continuation of such atrocities.
Meanwhile, The Peninsula emphasized Qatar’s dedication to safeguarding the right to education globally, especially in conflict areas. Qatar, through its Education Above All Foundation and Qatar Fund for Development, has been at the forefront of promoting education in such regions. The country has advocated for Palestinian children’s educational rights, particularly against the backdrop of the Israeli occupation’s attacks on educational institutions in Palestine.
At the UNESCO Executive Board session, Qatar reiterated its commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on building stable and just societies. The Peninsula stressed the need for global cooperation to protect the right to education in Gaza and worldwide.
