Doha: The Cabinet, chaired by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, held its regular meeting on Wednesday morning at the Amiri Diwan. During the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi expressed the Cabinet’s strong condemnation of the recent Israeli attack on the residential headquarters of several members of the Hamas Political Bureau in Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet labeled the attack as a flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a serious threat to the safety and security of its citizens and residents. The Cabinet emphasized that the act constitutes state terrorism and breaches international laws and norms. In response, Qatar has vowed to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and security, affirming its support for peace efforts in the region.
The Cabinet’s statement underscored the aggressive nature of the Israeli government’s actions, highlighting its disregard for the United Nations Charter and international laws. It called for a firm international response to deter such practices, which pose a significant threat to regional security and global peace.
The Cabinet extended its condolences for the martyrdom of Lance Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed Al Humaidi Al Dosari, who was killed in the attack, and expressed sympathies to the families of other martyrs. Additionally, the Cabinet wished a swift recovery to those injured in the incident.
Gratitude was expressed towards countries and international organizations that condemned the Israeli attack and supported Qatar, reflecting a global consensus for peace and justice. The Cabinet also listened to a briefing by HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, who detailed the security measures taken following the attack.
In response, the Cabinet decided to task the Minister of Interior with forming a team to review all procedures related to such incidents. A legal team, led by HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, will also be formed to pursue legal action against the attack, citing it as a breach of international law and conventions.
