Prime Minister of Qatar Condemns Iranian Attacks on Jordan in Phone Call with Jordanian Counterpart

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a phone call with HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr. Ayman Safadi. During the call, they discussed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to strengthen them, and explored the latest regional developments, particularly the diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's strongest condemnation of the renewed attacks launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. These actions were considered a violation of Jordan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, breaching international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and principles of good neighborliness.

His Excellency emphasized the necessity for all parties to engage in dialogue and diplomacy and to adhere to agreements made within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This includes ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to maintain regional security and stability.

His Excellency reiterated the State of Qatar's full support for efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves lasting peace in the region.
