Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call from HE Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Anwar Ibrahim. During the call, the two leaders discussed the recent military escalation in the region and its impacts on regional and international security.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Iranian attack on Qatari territory is a clear violation of Qatar's national sovereignty. He highlighted that it contradicts the principles of good neighborliness and cannot be justified under any circumstances. His Excellency remarked that Qatar has consistently sought to remain neutral in regional conflicts and has facilitated dialogue between Iran and the international community. Nevertheless, the recent targeting of Qatari territory undermines the foundations of bilateral relations between the two countries.
HE the Prime Minister called for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions, advocating a return to the negotiating table to prioritize reason and wisdom. He stressed the importance of containing the crisis to preserve regional security.
HE the Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed concern over the developments in the region and urged for de-escalation. He called for restraint and a return to negotiations and diplomatic solutions to prevent further instability.
