Doha: The Pakistani military announced today that 12 militants were killed during ongoing security operations in the country's southwest.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the military said security forces carried out the operations based on intelligence in the Mastung and Washuk districts of Balochistan province, resulting in the killing of 12 militants and the seizure of a quantity of weapons found in their possession.
For years, Pakistani forces have been conducting security operations against armed groups active in the country's northwestern and southwestern border and mountainous regions, where they periodically launch attacks targeting security forces and civilians.
