Doha: The Ministry of Municipality has conducted a guidance program focused on managing plant water requirements. This initiative was organized in cooperation with Mahaseel for Marketing and Agri-Services, a subsidiary of Hassad Food, and was attended by 34 agricultural engineers and local farm managers.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program emphasized understanding Qatar’s water resources and the current state of these resources. It reviewed key challenges facing water management in the country and introduced principles for determining plant water needs. Scientific methods for accurately and efficiently calculating irrigation quantities were also discussed.
Several proposals were presented during the program, including the development of a mobile app for managing plant water needs. Enhancing the practical and applied aspects of training programs and collecting farm data under the supervision of the Ministry of Municipality were also suggested. This data collection aims to issue regular recommendations on irrigation water quantities to improve the efficiency of water resource use in the agricultural sector.
