Ministry of Justice Unveils New Edition of Legal and Judicial Journal

Doha: The Ministry of Justice's (MoJ) Legal and Judicial Studies Center has released a new edition of the Legal and Judicial Journal, offering a collection of analytical and comparative legal studies and research, along with commentary on Qatari legislation, and rulings and fatwas from the Court of Cassation.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Abdullah Hamad Al Khaldi, the Director of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, emphasized that the new issue sheds light on significant fatwas issued by the MoJ's Department of Fatwa, which address disputes between the department and its employees.

Dr. Al Khaldi highlighted that this edition provides more informative content than previous ones, focusing on addressing legal issues relevant to the interests of community members and legal practitioners. It aligns its content with best academic and scientific practices, combining legal research and commentary within a single chapter.

He further noted that the issue aims to enrich Qatari legal libraries, offering an informative resource that benefits legal researchers and professionals, ultimately enhancing awareness of statutory provisions and disseminating scientific research in this vital field.

The journal covers a range of research topics, including criminal enforcement of environmental protection laws, the legal nature of treasury management agreements between banks and customers, cyber-extortion, legal assistance for indigent persons, political offenses, and the protection of the right to liberty.

In the Fatwas chapter, the journal delves into critical cases, such as conflicts of interest for employees regarding government tenders and public employees' entitlement to retirement paychecks upon appointment and reappointment in regular and permanent work scenarios.

This edition aligns with the MoJ's vision, focusing on critical cases and aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030. It addresses the legal needs for development, environmental, and social objectives while promoting legal culture and engaging researchers and academics in enriching the Qatari legal experience.

Additionally, the edition includes updates to chapters and their scientific implications, presenting legal subjects in a simplified, accessible manner, and providing easy access to legal information for community members, researchers, and specialists.
