Minister of Interior meets with Berndt.

Tripoli: Minister of Interior, Major General Imad Al-Trabelsi, discussed yesterday with Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy, Berndt, the ministry's efforts in protecting security and stability in Tripoli and all Libyan cities and regions. During the meeting held at the Ministry's office in Tripoli, the two parties reviewed the ministry's plans to secure the Ras Ajdir border after its opening and to secure the upcoming municipal council elections, as well as the ministry's plan to evacuate Tripoli from security and military bodies for the competent authorities in the Ministry to take over the tasks of maintaining security. Al-Trabelsi confirmed that a security plan had been drawn up to secure the Ras Ajdir border, noting that its reopening took a great deal of time and effort, which contributed to its reopening to combat all forms of smuggling and crime. The minister also stated that there is an alternative plan to secure the upcoming municipal elections, stressing the ministry's readiness to secure these electoral entitlements in one day and aspire to reach the presidential elections.
