Doha: HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai engaged in discussions with HE Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, Evan Solomon, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of Communications, Information Technology, and Digital Innovation.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting underscored the robust bilateral relations between Qatar and Canada, which have been established for over fifty years. The Ministers expressed satisfaction with the progress in mutual collaboration areas and explored opportunities for cooperation in high-performance computing (HPC), digital infrastructure expertise exchange, and artificial intelligence (AI). The discussions also included developing national talent and knowledge sharing in these critical areas.
Further, the Ministers deliberated on cooperation in digital policy development, tech entrepreneurship support, and capacity building in digital innovation. Both parties consented to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will serve as a framework for future collaboration, reinforcing the digital partnership between Qatar and Canada and advancing their mutual objectives.
