Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), represented by the Monitoring and Inspection Department, conducted a joint visit to the railway network lines. This tour was carried out in collaboration with Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) as part of deepening technical cooperation and sharing expertise to ensure the enforcement of best environmental practices that reinforce sustainability in infrastructure projects.
According to Qatar News Agency, the visit included field measurements of noise levels by the Ministry's engineers, with the objective of monitoring environmental indicators to be recalibrated based on approved requirements and criteria, thereby helping to enhance environmental quality and the environmental monitoring system. The outcomes of these measurements were outlined and discussed by technical teams from both sides, in addition to exploring the best measures required to maintain noise levels within approved environmental limits.
This action will significantly strengthen compliance with environmental requirements and support the continued operation of the railway network lines. MECC emphasized that such visits embody its partnership-based approach with a wide range of national entities, which ultimately helps advance environmental action and compliance with environmental standards. It likewise contributes to achieving sustainable development in alignment with the State of Qatar's vision of preserving the environment and quality of life.
