Doha: Liwan Design Studios and Labs, in collaboration with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF), has announced the opening of submissions for the second edition of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open Poster Design Competition. This initiative invites creatives from across Qatar to design the official poster for the men's tournament, set to take place in February next year.
According to Qatar News Agency, the competition follows the success of its inaugural edition in 2024 and underscores Liwan's commitment to supporting Qatar's burgeoning creative community. As a part of Qatar Museums' network of Creative Hubs, Liwan is dedicated to nurturing artistic talent, fostering innovation, and bolstering the country's creative and cultural industries. The competition aligns with Qatar Museums' vision of building a vibrant, sustainable creative ecosystem.
The competition is open to designers, illustrators, artists, photographers, and digital creatives residing in Qatar, offering them a high-profile platform to create the tournament's official visual identity. The winning artwork will be integral to the tournament's branding, featured in promotional, digital, print, and on-site experiences. The application window closes on 10 August.
Participants are encouraged to submit original designs that capture the energy, legacy, and international essence of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open while reflecting Qatar's rich cultural heritage. The selected artwork will join a growing visual legacy for the tournament. Both individual and collaborative entries are welcome and will be assessed by a distinguished jury of professionals from design, art, and sports, based on criteria such as originality, artistic quality, conceptual strength, and adaptability across different platforms.
Liwan and the Qatar Tennis Federation aim to celebrate creative excellence and strengthen the connection between sport, culture, and design in Qatar through this competition. The winning designer will receive a cash prize of QR 15,000 and a one-year membership to Liwan Design Studios and Labs.
