Tripoli: Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah met today with Hanna Tetteh, Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, to discuss the latest developments in the political roadmap and the electoral process. According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, Dbeibah emphasized the Government of National Unity's vision, which rejects any new transitional phases and advocates proceeding directly to elections based on an agreed-upon legal framework with legitimacy derived from the Libyan people. Libya was scheduled to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in December 2021, but these have been postponed indefinitely due to disagreements among political factions.
