Large crowds mourn the martyr Rabie Zakarneh in Qabatiya, south of Jenin

Jenin – Together – Large crowds of our people in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, today, Tuesday, mourned the body of the martyr Rabie Faisal Zakarneh (20 years old), who was martyred as a result of being shot by Israeli occupation forces during their storming of the town at dawn last Saturday.

In the same raid last Saturday, the child Moatasem Nabil Abu Abed (13 years old) was martyred and another young man was injured. The occupation forces also arrested three other young men.

Mourners carried the body of the martyr Zakarneh, wrapped in the Palestinian flag on their shoulders, in Qabatiya, and walked through the streets of the town, chanting slogans denouncing the crimes of the occupation against our people, all the way to the mosque, where they performed prayers over him, amid chanting of angry slogans.

Then the funeral procession, which started in front of Al-Razi Hospital in the city of Jenin, proceeded towards the home of the martyr’s family, where he was given a final farewell, before he was bu
ried in the town’s cemetery.

During the funeral, I delivered speeches to the town’s activities, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening national unity to confront the occupation, and demanding the necessity of providing international protection for our people, especially in light of the extremist Israeli government. She stressed that the crimes of the occupation will not discourage or intimidate our people, and they will continue to struggle until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Fatah movement also mourned the martyr Abu Jihad and the National and Islamic Action factions, the martyr Zakarneh, stressing that this crime is added to the series of systematic crimes and war of extermination committed by the occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
