Iraqi and Iranian Foreign Ministers Address Regional Tensions Amid Israeli Attack

Doha: Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, discussed the latest developments in the region in light of the Israeli attack on Iran. In a phone call today, the Iraqi Foreign Minister affirmed that his country would continue to play its regional and international role in seeking de-escalation and containment of the crisis within politically and diplomatically manageable frameworks, while warning of the potential consequences for regional security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that Israel is seeking to expand the scope of the war in the region, indicating that his country’s position is clear in rejecting the expansion of the conflict, whether geographically or toward any other state. He affirmed that the ongoing operations are part of a defensive response to Israeli attacks and are not intended to escalate the confrontation with other parties.
